For professionals
How to work here, start to finish
Ten minutes to read. Every step links to the place where you do it. Keep it open next to your dashboard.
Your first week
Do these seven things and people can find you, book you, and pay you.
Set up
What a learner sees, and what lets them book.
Your profile
Photo, a short About, how you work, a few FAQ answers. This is what people read before they pay. Write it the way you talk.
The language you write in
Tell us which language you write your profile in. We translate it for readers in other languages and keep your original.
Identity check
Upload an ID document. It is encrypted and only our reviewers see it. A person checks it, then your profile goes live.
Offerings and prices
One offering is enough to start. Set the price in your currency. A cheaper first session helps people try you. Packages and group sessions can come later.
Your hours
Open the hours you want to work. One-to-one sessions can only be booked inside them. Connect your calendar and we skip your busy times.
Your calendar
Every booking in one place. Add them to Google, Outlook or Apple Calendar with one link.
Money, plainly
How payment works, and what you have to do. Mostly nothing.
They pay when they book
The full price is taken at booking and held by us. You never chase anyone for money.
We hold it until the lesson is done
For 72 hours after the lesson, the learner can report a problem. If nobody does, the money becomes yours, minus our commission.
Our commission
A share of each session price. It goes down as you complete more sessions. The Teach page shows the current rates and what you keep.
Getting paid
Add your bank details once, with our payments partner Stripe. Then press Withdraw, or turn on automatic weekly payouts. Small balances wait for the next round.
If a learner cancels late, or does not show
A cancel more than 24 hours before the start refunds them in full. Closer than that, or a no-show, you keep the fee.
If you cancel
The learner gets a full refund, whenever you cancel. It also counts against your reliability, which learners see. Move the lesson instead when you can.
Before a lesson
A booking lands. Here is what happens, and what is worth doing.
You get a notice
Email, push and in-app. Open it to see who booked and when. The time shows in your zone and in theirs.
Read their goal
Learners can write what they are aiming at. It is the best lesson plan you will get for free.
Keep a private note
One note per learner, only you see it. Where you left off, what to bring next time.
Set homework
Give them something to do before you meet. They tick it off and can send you what they did.
Reminders go out by themselves
The learner is reminded and asked to confirm they are coming. You see who has confirmed.
Check your setup
New laptop, new headset, new browser: run the check. It takes a minute and saves the first five of the lesson.
Need to move it?
Propose up to three new times. The learner picks one or says no. No extra charge either way.
In Ollio
Everything runs in the browser. Nothing to install, for you or for them.
Join a few minutes early
Pick your camera and mic on the join screen. Blur your background if you like.
Recording, transcript, AI
Three separate questions, all off to start. Nothing is recorded unless both of you say yes. Saying no never blocks the lesson.
Whiteboard, screen share, chat
Draw together, show your screen, paste links in chat. The chat stays after the lesson, so nothing typed is lost.
Live captions
Captions in the learner’s language, if you both turn them on. Useful when you do not share a first language.
Mark a moment
Press Mark when something matters. Marks show up on the summary afterwards, so you can find that moment again.
Wrap up
In the last minutes, open Wrap up. Tick what you covered and set the next homework while it is fresh.
After the lesson
The lesson closes itself when the room does. Two things are worth five minutes.
Prepare the summary
Open the lesson from your sessions page and go to its summary. Press Prepare a summary to build one from what the lesson recorded, then edit it: what we covered, key terms, next steps.
Share it
Nothing reaches the learner until you press Share. They see it under Learning, next to their homework.
Reviews
The learner is asked for a review. You can reply from your Reviews page. Never ask for a good one, and never offer anything for one.
One question from us
After some lessons we ask how the software behaved. It is separate from your rating and never public.
Book the next one
Learners get a nudge to rebook the same slot. A weekly repeat makes this automatic.
Staying in good standing
Short, because most of this is common sense.
Keep contact here
Messages and lessons stay on the platform. Phone numbers and emails in chat are hidden for a reason: a deal made outside loses the payment protection.
Reliability
Your cancellations and no-shows are counted and shown to learners. Fewer is better. Move a lesson rather than cancel it.
If you miss a lesson
If you do not join, the learner is refunded and it counts as a no-show for you.
How ranking works
The search order is explained in full, in the open. Reviews, reliability and a complete profile all count.
Report or block
If a learner behaves badly, report them from the session, or block them from messages. You do not have to put up with anything.
The rules
The community policy and the professional agreement say what is allowed. Both are short and written in plain words.
Common mistakes
Seen often. Easy to avoid.
- Hours are open but no offering is published, so there is no Book button.
- Payouts were never set up, so the money sits in Available to withdraw.
- Cancelling late instead of proposing a new time.
- The summary was prepared but never shared.
- Skipping the setup check on a new device, and losing the first five minutes.
- Asking for a review. Let them decide.
