Community and Content Policy

This policy covers what may be offered here, how people are expected to treat each other, and what happens when they do not.

Who this is for

Everyone. The same rules apply whether you are here to learn or to teach.

What is not allowed

• Harassment, threats, or abuse of any person.
• Hate speech, or content that attacks people for who they are.
• Sexual content, and any sexual approach to another person on this platform.
• Impersonating another person or organisation, or claiming credentials you do not hold.
• Fraud, including manufactured reviews, manufactured session history, and accounts created to make another account look better.
• Spam, whether in messages, in listings, or in reviews.
• Arranging payment outside the platform for work booked through it. This one is worth explaining rather than just stating: it is not about our commission. Off platform payment removes the record that a session was agreed, which is what refunds, disputes, and safety reports are all built on. Once it is gone, we cannot help either of you.

What may be taught

The subject catalogue is deliberately broad, and it is not limited to academic subjects or languages. Two conditions apply to everything:

• It must be instruction. You may teach a subject; you may not perform a service in place of teaching it. The distinction matters most in areas where people are vulnerable to being sold an outcome rather than a skill, and it is applied there most strictly.
• No claim of a guaranteed outcome. You may describe what you teach and how you teach it. You may not promise a result that depends on anything other than your instruction.

Some categories are reviewed by a person before a listing goes live. Where that applies, you are told when you submit, and you are told the reason if it is not approved.

What happens when a rule is broken

Depending on what happened, a listing may be held back, a review may be hidden, an account may be limited, or an account may be suspended. Whenever we act, we tell you what was done. We tell you why, unless saying why would tell someone how to avoid being caught next time, and we say plainly when that is the case rather than staying silent.

Reporting something

Every profile, conversation and session has a report option. Reports are read by a person. Reporting someone does not tell them you did.
